On behalf of United Utilities, KMI commissioned Plasticon Ltd to manufactur and install an odour abatement plant at Burnley wastewater Treatment Works. As part of the contractual requirements, Plasticon were required to demonstrate the equipment’s ability to confirm to the original equipment specifications, as specified by KMI.
Performance Of Test of Odour Assessment
SES was commissioned to complete the odour performance test, which included measurements across the abatement equipment of the following key odour parameters:
- Odour concentration (ouE/m3)
- Hydrogen Sulphide
- Dimethyl sulphide
- Total Mercaptans
- Total volatile organic compounds
- Air flows
- Differential Pressures
Over the course of 28 days, SES were able to fulfil the monitoring requirements and demonstrate that the abatement equipment was performiong to specification. In turn, Plasticon were able to hand over the asser to KMI and complete the project.
