Don’t get left out in the cold this winter. As the temperature drops below freezing, we recommend doing the following to avoid costly damage to misting equipment.
- Before the weather hits freezing temperatures, flush any water lines with Microsol / ASE Disinfect – this reduces the risk of legionella and clears away any debris that has accumulated over the warmer months.
- Do NOT turn on misting equipment once temperatures are below freezing, it can cause damage to internal parts.
- If mobile equipment is to be left on-site but not in use during the coldest months, please try to cover the bowser with tarpaulin (or similar) to reduce frost-damage.
- If you’re planning to turn your system off for the winter, empty all water in the system and flush (see 1.)
Equipment specific advice:
Cannons: Empty the bowser of water and drain the cannon pump by removing the drain plug at the rear of the pump. Cover bowser if left un-used for long periods of time.
Rotary Atomisers (mobile): empty bowsers of water and flush lines. Cover bowser if left un-used for long periods of time.
Pacific Mobiles / Quattro units: empty the bowser of water and open the flushing valves at the ends of the nozzle lines to allow the lines to drain – leave these valves open during especially cold periods. Cover bowser if left un-used for long periods of time.
Static/Installed systems: Turn off the main water feed to the control panel and allow the system to run for approx. 2 mins and then turn off the system. Open the flush valves and leave them open.
