Processing & Manufacturing Warehouse Dust Control Systems

Processing and manufacturing industries can be prone to airborne dust particles in the environment, created from the activities and processes involved.

Within processing and manufacturing facilities, often food industries can produce an odour into the environment that can be considered a nuisance to neighbouring businesses and residents, in addition to employees, potentially creating an unpleasant workplace.
Odour can be emitted from fumes and smokes coming from factories which can cause local complaints being raised, which would then require any processing and manufacturing facilities to source odour control to keep complaints reduced and neutralise odours, creating a more pleasant environment.

Activities such as cutting, drilling, sawing and grinding in processing and manufacturing create airborne dust particles, which can be hazardous to workers and the environment.

Dust and odour control is required to prioritise health and safety and improve visibility on-sites. Dust can be harmful when inhaled, particularly respirable dust as it can cause short term effects of headache, fatigue and irritation and much more serious long-term effects including asthma, COPD and lung disease in some cases.

Ensuring dust is suppressed on-site and exposure to dust is reduced as much as possible for workers is essential – particularly in line with Workplace Exposure Limits for industries regularly exposed to dust.

Additionally, visibility can be an issue where dust is involved, airborne dust can be dangerous by reducing visibility, in industries or factories with machinery poor visibility poses a health and safety risk for workers, which is why factory dust control is essential. Build up of dust can also be damaging to equipment and machinery on-site.

Warehouse dust control systems can be introduced in entrance and exits areas to keep dust from coming in and clean any transportation when leaving the warehouse.

We offer a range of warehouse dust solutions, in the form of water-based dust suppression which includes, rotary atomisers, which provide a fine mist of water, or boundary systems such as pacific systems, these can be used particularly effective around doorways and entrances to manufacturing sites to reduce dust incoming and outgoing. 

As water may not be ideal in all processing and manufacturing facilities, we also offer non-water-based dust suppression in the form of StaticAir Systems. These systems use electrostatic technology to reduce fine dust particles (PM0.1 – PM10) in the air. StaticAir systems are a low maintenance, noise free solution which cause minimal disturbance whilst clearing the air of dust. They`re eco-friendly and energy efficient systems. 

For odour control issues we also offer misting systems which can be used in conjunction with our Liquid Odour Neutraliser – ODR. ODR is effective by being added to potable water and then misted over an area to remove the smell and replace with a clean, fresh scent. The ODR range is available with a wide range of fragrances and strengths to suit each individual site need and requirement. ODR can also be implemented with nozzle-line/boundary systems to be fitted to ducts and shafts (chimneys) to ensure smells are not admitted out to neighbours.
